Maria Sebastian is a freshman at MMC majoring in Communication Arts. She is, in essence, an entertainment nerd. She watches too many movies and television shows to be considered a normal person, and loves to attend comedy shows. In the future, Maria wants to either go into advertising or write for television. She is incorporating both of these interests into her job at The Monitor- both writing frequently for it while working to promote the newspaper and to make it more interactive.

Tunesday

To make myself post on here more often, I’m going to start posting my favorite songs of the week every Tuesday. Yay for commitments.

This week: Lupe Fiasco - The Show Goes On

I was always indifferent about Lupe Fiasco’s music, but I saw him perform this when I went to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and was super impressed. I was addicted to Float On by Modest Mouse when it first came out years ago, and now I’m addicted to this.

One more dance video from the best dancer I’ve ever seen, Chaz Buzan.

If only I could touch the hem of his sleeve.

AND he’s dancing to Múm! Ughhh <3

Tucker Barkley and Ian Eastwood making me forget this song is an overplayed mess.

So amazing. I can’t even.

Hoppipolla - Sigur Rós

I will never ever get tired of this song.

I’m going to start praying in the direction of IKEA

themariaproblem:

Stand by for shameless advertising moment of the day-

IKEA is my favorite store. Ever. I’m so obsessed  with it. On Sunday, I spent under $20 for a great time out and some cool stuff.

Walking around Wall Street, taking a FREE water taxi across the East River, seeing a beautiful skyline, plus catching glimpses of the statue of liberty and Ellis Island- $2.50

2 hot dogs & Sierra Mist- $2

3 BIG Swedish chocolate bars- $2.75

2 boxes of Microwaved mashed potatoes- 5.90

Cute rug- $3.99

DO YOU SEE THIS?! I am the cheapest person in the world, so reading this post again nearly brings me to weep with joy. So much joy. Frugal, frugal joy.
